SUV 13 series
The UV sensors of the SUV13 series are used for cost-effective detection of UV irradiance. The sensors have a G1/4″ screw-in thread and are available in different versions. A version for use in explosion protection areas is also available.
Data sheets and information
General Attributes
UV sensors of the model series SUV 13 are duty sensors and intended for the use direct in water. The sensors have a G ¼” screw-in thread and are available in different types. Configuration options are the type of the output signal, the measuring range and the total length Also, a pollution insensitive direct vitrification of the entrance optic to avoid sealing elements which are vulnerable to aging is optionally possible. The output signal is either a voltage output with 0 to 4,5/10 V, a current loop output with 4 to 20 mA or a RS485 interface. Therefore, the sensors will be calibrated absolutely according to the customer’s specifications and delivered with a manufacturer certification according to EN 10204 on demand. Relative measuring types without calibrated output signal are also available. In addition, digital sensor versions for calibration provided by customer by the use of the reference radiometer KUV 2.4 WR are available. Also, the working range as well as the sensor type and the serial number will get marked permanently on the surface of the sensor so that a steady identification and retraceability will be guaranteed. If they are plugged in the sensors reach the degree of protection IP65. Suitable connection cables as accessories are also available.

Sealing Properties and Usage Notes
The sensor windows are waterproof. During manufacturing, a 100% leakage test is performed with a helium mass spectrometer. The test direction is from the quartz window outside to the sensor inserting area. The permitted leakage rate Q has to be less than Q = 10⁻⁸ mbar·l/s.
The general operation pressure from the water side is from atmospheric pressure (p = 1 bar) up to p = 16 bar. For cleaning procedures outside the allowed pressure range, a sensor window exchange via G1″ blind plug is recommendable. It is necessary to prevent humidity at the inner surface and quartz of the measuring window, as this can cause sensor damage. Before inserting the sensor, it is recommended to flush this area with dry air or nitrogen.
