General Attributes
The sensor windows of the model series FUV 38 are designed for drinking water treatment facilities. They are suitable and applicable for UV reference sensors meeting the standards of DVGW W294-3 or ÖNORM M5873 as well as other sensors used in water treatment facilities. The window is a pane made of quartz glass sealed in a 16-bar waterproof steel body. Sensor windows can be designed according to customers specific requirements, e.g. with screw thread M30 x 2 or G1″ for use in water treatment facilities. The sealing can be realized with O-ring Ø33×1,5 mm, that is assembled into an existing circular groove. O-rings are optional and not content in regular deliveries. Screw thread M 30 x 2 is used for the fixation of the sensors. Necessary connection accessories (e.g. cap nuts) are offered.

Sealing Properties and Usage Notes
The sensor windows are water proof. During manufacturing a 100% leakage test is done with a helium mass spectrometer. The test direction is from quartz window outside to the sensor inserting area. The permitted leakage rate Q has to be less than Q = 10⁻⁸ mbar·l/s (milli bar times liter per second). The leakage rate is a dimension for an amount of substance which flows through a leak per time.
The general operation pressure from water side is atmospheric pressure (p = 1 bar) up to p = 16 bar. For cleaning procedures outside the allowed pressure range a sensor window exchange via G1″ blind plug is recommendable. It is necessary to prevent humidity at the inner surface and quartz of the measuring window. This humidity can cause sensor damages. Before plug in the sensor it is recommended to flush this area with dry air or nitrogen.
